In his final year of Law School, Matt worked as a judicial extern for the Honorable Ivan L.R. Lemelle in United States District Court for the Eastern District Court of Louisiana. During the first two years in law school, Matt worked as a Project Manager for Science Applications International Corporation, which managed a large portion of Entergy’s information technology projects. During this time, Matt was responsible for handling large budget accounts and facilitating meetings with his corporate clients. Prior to this, Matt worked as a claims representative for State Farm Insurance Company where he handled litigated and non-litigated automobile personal injury claims. Since 2003, Matt has also volunteered his time by serving as a reserve police officer for the Pearl River Police Department. The knowledge and experience Matt acquired through his professional career has proven to be a great asset to his practice of law.

While at Loyola Law, Matt was elected as Student Bar Association Class Representative for the evening division in 2004. He was a member of the Loyola Maritime Law Journal, Real Estate Law Society, and International Law Society. He attended the study abroad programs hosted in Austria (summer 2003) and Russia (summer 2004), which enabled him to receive his International Legal Studies Certificate. He was also awarded the CALI - Excellence for the Future Award from Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center for his achievement in the study of Russian Legal Systems. He received the LaNasa-Greco Scholarship and graduated in the top 25% of his class.

After completing his bar exam, Matt shared in the Katrina recovery effort. He received a certificate of service for his dedication and commitment to the community as a police officer immediately following Katrina’s devastation. Matt continued to work as part of the Hurricane Katrina disaster recovery in various capacities until he accepted a position with Creighton, Richards & Higdon, LLC.

Matt is married to Danielle and has a step-daughter, Tyler.
